Summary
Sepsis is one of the most frequent causes of death. The majority of deaths from acute infectious diseases and sepsis occur in low- and lower-middle-income countries. In striking contrast to these numbers, resources to treat and education about sepsis are lowest in those areas of the world. Education is considered one of the keys to improve the care of patients suffering from infectious diseases and sepsis in low- and lower-middle-income countries.
